Use Water Filters To Clean & Soften Your Water
Using filtered water in your coffee machine is an important and often overlooked factor in the quality of espresso you produce and can be the difference between having your espresso machine for a few years and enjoying it for 10 years or more!
Water filters remove sediment, chlorine and also reduce the total hardness (TH) of the water. If these are not filtered out of the water, this can cause problems with your machine quite quickly. You can experience issues such as blocked pipe fittings, scale builds up in the group head and boiler, inefficiencies in heating and performance, and much more.
This can result in some very costly repair bills, sometimes costing so much that it’s not even worth repairing the espresso machine. This demonstrates the importance of having a good water filter installed, and having the cartridge replaced when necessary (usually every 12 months).
